31 Day Challenge: Day 12 "Splatter Paint"

Well, this was certainly a fun one! The challenge is "Splatter Paint" and it looks super fly! I used one of those small coffee straws to "splatter" the polish onto my nails, and it made a little bit of a mess! However, I think it was definitely worth the resulting awesomeness! :) What do you think?

[The polishes used in this design are Orly "Green With Envy" (teal), Milani "Flaming Race" (pink), Orly "Charged Up" (purple), and Zoya "Pippa" (yellow).]

Thanks for visiting! :D

31 Day Challenge: Day 11 "Geometric"

The challenge theme for today is "Geometric" and I was so excited to try my hand at some intricate geometric designs and patterns. However, I wasn't really happy with how these turned out... I used some Nail Art squeeze pens and they turned out to be quite unruly and a bit hard to use! However, I think it was a good challenge for me using a new medium :)

As a bonus, I found some other designs that I did in February with these nail art pens! They were a gift from one of my best friends!

31 Day Challenge: Day 10 "Lose Your Marbles"

Today the challenge theme is "Lose Your Marbles," or water marbles! I decided to stray from the original use of white as a base, and instead used a pastel pink (Milani Pink Express). There are pros and cons to this technique. As a pro, you can't really tell if the design didn't reach all the way to the edges. However, as a con, the less opaque colors are tainted by having a colored base. I think these turned out well, but I think I'll probably return to the white base for next time :) I added some dots later just to make the design more coherent and intricate! What do you think?

[The polishes used are: Milani "Pink Express" (light pink), China Glaze "Flip Flop Fantasy" (neon hot pink), essie "the more the merrier" (green), OPI "Do You Lilac It?" (purple), OPI "Room for the Blues" (blue), and Sally Hansen "White On."]

As a bonus, I also found a water marble that I think was my second attempt ever!

Improvement is always possible!

31 Day Challenge: Day 9 "Shiny"

Hi! So the challenge theme today is "Shiny," and I chose to use a couple of shimmer polishes! I also wanted to practice my tape skills by making some chevrons! I have seen this color combination a lot this summer (teal and coral) and finally wanted to make use of it. To make the design even shinier, I added a coat of holographic topcoat from Pixie Polish! It's definitely a cute summer color combo and I hope you like it!

[The polishes used in this design are: Color Club "Metamorphosis" (teal) and Zoya "Rica" (coral). The gold accents are American Apparel "Gold Flash."]

31 Day Challenge: Day 8 "Gradient"

Hello! Today the theme is "Gradient," and I decided to start with a base of one of my favorite shimmery duochromes: Orly Synchro! After completing the gradient with a bit of a makeup sponge, I thought it really needed something more, so I began to freehand random designs with black. I started out using acrylic paint and a small brush, but its clumps made it impossible to continue without being able to make straight lines! So I switched back to my trusty Orly Instant Artist, and completed the design. I think it's pretty fun and shiny! What do you think?

[The polishes used in this design are Orly "Synchro" (shimmery pink), O.P.I. "Funky Dunkey" (purple), and American Apparel "Gold Flash" (gold). The black is a combination of acrylic paint and Orly Instant Artist in black.]

31 Day Challenge: Day 7 "Rainbow"

With flash :D

Today the theme of the 31DC was "Rainbow," and I could hardly contain my excitement :) In this particular design, I painted my nails white with my trusty OPI "Alpine Snow" and then used acrylic paints for the color stripes! It was super time consuming, but once I finished, it didn't quite look done. So I went back with some white and my dotting tool to create a surface pattern that I think helps tie together the slightly different rainbow patterns. I really like this designs and it is SO much fun to look down at my rainbow-stripe-clad nails! What do you think?

31 Day Challenge: Day 6 "We are Family"

Today the theme is "We Are Family" or color family, so I decided to use the green family! I love the intricate look of dot patterns, so I thought it would be a good choice! I used a variety of greens atop a gold-green duochrome base! I hope you like it!

[The polishes used are: Deborah Lippmann's "Swagga Like Us" (gold-green base), essie (from light to dark) "The More the Merrier," "Mojito Madness," "Pretty Edgy," "Shake Your $$ Maker," and "Sew Psyched."]

31 Day Challenge: Day 5 "Purple People Eaters"

Today the challenge theme is purple, and I decided to go for a gradient with a stamped design. I am not very familiar or experienced with stamping nail art designs, but I wanted to improve my skills. Plus, it looks so cool to have such precise and intricate patterns on all of your nails! I think these turned out okay, though only the middle one is really perfect :) Overall, I like the simple yet complex look of these designs! How about you?

[The polishes used in this design are OPI "Do You Lilac It?" and Sally Hansen Nail Prisms "Purple Diamond." The white is the Konad stamping polish that came with the set.]

31 Day Challenge: Day 4 "Pretty in Pink"

For the pink challenge theme, I decided to go for flowers! I started out wanting the design to be simple with some nonchalant flowers, but it turned out pretty dramatic and eye-catching. I later added the dots and the French fringe at the top of the nails because i thought it needed a little something more :) What do you think?

[I used white acrylic paint and OPI "If You Moust You Moust" for the designs, and American Apparel "Crescent Heights" for my thumb.]

31 Day Challenge: Day 3 "Gold Digger"

Hello again :)

Today I have Day 3 of my Personal 31 Day Challenge! The theme is "Gold Digger" (actually just gold), and I thought, "What's more gold than real gold?" so I reached for the Zoya 18k gold polish "Gilty" that my sister gave me. I decided to do a little gold gradient atop the purple chrome polish Sally Hansen's "Moonstone." The gold flakes were a little hard to work with to create a gradient with the sponges, but they still looked shiny and spectacular :) What do you think?

31 Day Challenge: Day 2 "Silver Linings"

Today, the challenge is silver, or "Silver Linings," so I decided to use my most prized silver polish, GOSH "Holographic." Earlier today, I posted my swatch of GOSH Holographic, and you can see all of its glimmering beauty here. I decided to go for some dotty flowers with some other duochrome and holographic polishes, but unfortunately, you can't really tell. However, I am loving the GOSH holo, and I think it makes a great backdrop for the little flowers. Not one of my best or favorite designs, but still pretty fun, right?

[The polishes used are GOSH "Holographic" (silver), Sally Hansen Nail Prisms "Purple Diamond" (purple), OPI "DS Magic" (dark blue), China Glaze "Unpredictable" (green), Orly "Synchro" (pinkish purple near top of nail), and Orly "Space Cadet" (purple-y green).]

Swatch: GOSH Holographic

Check out this beauty of all beauties!! GOSH Holographic is the crown jewel of my holo collection, and look at how it shines! Inside, or in low light, it looks like a simple silver polish, but take it into the sunlight and it shimmers and glimmers and makes its linear holographic effect like crazy! I love this polish and I knew I had to share it with you! :)

31 Day Challenge: Day 1 "Black and White"

Hello :)

For Day 1 of the 31 Day Challenge, "Black and White," I was super excited to just go with a white base and freehand a lot of random designs in black! And that's exactly what I did! I used black acrylic paint and various nail art brushes to paint on some designs, and I am really loving the intricacy of the different designs and overall monochrome scheme. Black and white is definitely one of my favorite color pairings, and with nail art, always looks sophisticated and detailed. :) What do you think?

[The white base polish used in this design is Sally Hansen's "White On."]

Henna :)

While vacationing in Hawaii, my friends and I decided to get some henna tattoos! And, of course, I couldn't wait to create some nail art inspired by the design. On the middle finger, the dots continue onto my nail with some small rhinestones, and each of the other nails is a pattern similar to that found in the tattoo design! What do you think?

Happy Fourth of July!

Here are a couple of patriotic designs that I did for the holiday! The first is a simple yet chic (I think) white design, and the second is full of color and reminiscent of fireworks! I hope you enjoy them and have a fantastic Fourth! :)
