31 Day Challenge: Day 27 "Inspired by You!"

Hello there! The theme for today is "Inspired by You!" so I decided to pursue a design around my favorite color: purple! I made the design very shiny, with some holo polishes and a bit of glitter :) Overall, I really like the look and I think it's pretty cute! What do you think?

31 Day Challenge: Day 26 "Inspired by a Country"

Hello! Today the challenge is "Inspired by a Country," and I chose the wonderful country of Japan. I have always admired the language and culture, so I was excited to try out my hand at the country theme. In the end, I loved how these turned out and I don't want to take them off! But the challenge demands that I must :) What do you think? (And did you notice the little ninja?)

31 Day Challenge: Day 25 "Inspired by a Movie"

Today's theme is "Inspired by a Movie," and as I have recently become obsessed by watching Star Trek, I decided to do a design inspired by Star Trek: The Next Generation, including the movies that were derived from the show! My nail art is inspired by the uniforms of the TNG crew, the title, and the communicator badges. I love this mani (and the show) and I think everyone should watch it! What do you think?

31 Day Challenge: Day 24 "Inspired by Artwork"

Hi there! For today's challenge "Inspired by Artwork," I decided to pursue a bit of nature's artwork in the complexity of fractals! A fractal, as defined by the New Oxford American Dictionary, is "a curve or geometric figure, each part of which has the same statistical character as the whole. Fractals are useful in modeling structures (such as eroded coastlines or snowflakes) in which similar patterns recur at progressively smaller scales." Though I am much too imprecise to accurately recreate a fractal pattern on my nails, I attempted to make a pattern that would convey the complexity of nature's abilities at least to some extent! i love intricate patterns in nail art and I am glad I got to try this out! What do you think?

31 Day Challenge: Day 23 "Inspired by Nature"

For Day 23 of the challenge, "Inspired by Nature," I couldn't wait to make some galaxy nail designs! I have been reading "Dark Side of the Universe" and was inspired to pursue this design. I found one of the full page pictures taken by the Hubble Space Telescope and after painting the pinky nail, started to freestyle sponge on some space-like masses. Overall, I think they came out pretty well, and I'll be excited to try something like this again! What do you think?

31 Day Challenge: Day 22 "Inspired by Clothing"

For today's challenge theme, "Inspired by Clothing," I went a-searching on the Internet to find a dress in a color combination that would lend itself to being twisted into a manicure. I finally chose this dress, and the colors navy blue, bright pink, and gold! I also decided to interpret "inspired" as a design that I would wear to match and highlight the colors in the dress, so I used the braided technique to create my look for today! I hope you like it!

31 Day Challenge: Day 21 "Texture"

Today the challenge theme is "Texture" and I decided to use one of the trends of 2013: textured polish! I had recently purchased a few of the colors at various times, and I thought it would be fun to put them all together for the challenge! I used a drip pattern with the brushes that come with the bottles, and was able to layer the polishes without a hitch. I think this look is fun, and I encourage you to test out some textured polishes for yourself! I like it! :)
