Hello there! The theme for today is "Inspired by You!" so I decided to pursue a design around my favorite color: purple! I made the design very shiny, with some holo polishes and a bit of glitter :) Overall, I really like the look and I think it's pretty cute! What do you think?

31 Day Challenge: Day 26 "Inspired by a Country"

Hello! Today the challenge is "Inspired by a Country," and I chose the wonderful country of Japan. I have always admired the language and culture, so I was excited to try out my hand at the country theme. In the end, I loved how these turned out and I don't want to take them off! 31 Day Challenge: Day 25 "Inspired by a Movie"

Today's theme is "Inspired by a Movie," and as I have recently become obsessed by watching Star Trek, I decided to do a design inspired by Star Trek: The Next Generation, including the movies that were derived from the show! My nail art is inspired by the uniforms of the TNG crew, the title, and the communicator badges. I love this mani (and the show) and I think everyone should watch it! What do you think?

31 Day Challenge: Day 24 "Inspired by Artwork"

Hi there! For today's challenge "Inspired by Artwork," I decided to pursue a bit of nature's artwork in the complexity of fractals! A fractal, as defined by the New Oxford American Dictionary, is "a curve or geometric figure, each part of which has the same statistical character as the whole. Fractals are useful in modeling structures (such as eroded coastlines or snowflakes) in which similar patterns recur at progressively smaller scales." Though I am much too imprecise to accurately recreate a fractal pattern on my nails, I attempted to make a pattern that would convey the complexity of nature's abilities at least to some extent! i love intricate patterns in nail art and I am glad I got to try this out! What do you think?

31 Day Challenge: Day 23 "Inspired by Nature"

For Day 23 of the challenge, "Inspired by Nature," I couldn't wait to make some galaxy nail designs! I have been reading "Dark Side of the Universe" and was inspired to pursue this design. I found one of the full page pictures taken by the Hubble Space Telescope and after painting the pinky nail, started to freestyle sponge on some space-like masses. Overall, I think they came out pretty well, and I'll be excited to try something like this again! What do you think?

31 Day Challenge: Day 22 "Inspired by Clothing"

For today's challenge theme, "Inspired by Clothing," I went a-searching on the Internet to find a dress in a color combination that would lend itself to being twisted into a manicure. I finally chose this dress, and the colors navy blue, bright pink, and gold! I also decided to interpret "inspired" as a design that I would wear to match and highlight the colors in the dress, so I used the braided technique to create my look for today! I hope you like it!

31 Day Challenge: Day 21 "Texture"

Today the challenge theme is "Texture" and I decided to use one of the trends of 2013: textured polish! I had recently purchased a few of the colors at various times, and I thought it would be fun to put them all together for the challenge! I used a drip pattern with the brushes that come with the bottles, and was able to layer the polishes without a hitch. I think this look is fun, and I encourage you to test out some textured polishes for yourself! I like it! :)

31 Day Challenge: Day 20 "Animal Print"

Hi :) Today the theme is Animal Print, and I decided to go for a rather unusual look, though keeping the traditional zebra stripe design on top. I think it strays from the higher-contrast, more-traditional look with the pastel jelly base, and as excited as I was to try it, I don't know if I really like it as much. But what do you think?

31 Day Challenge: Day 19 "Team"

Hello! Today the challenge theme is "Team," one of my favorite words and ideas. Though I wasn't sure how to illustrate the true weight and meaning of team, I decided to use various sports to illustrate this concept instead of limiting it to one. I think the design turned out pretty cool and looks fun! I designed a football field, basketball court, soccer ball, baseball, and lacrosse stick. What do you think?

31 Day Challenge: Day 18 "The Start of Something New"

Hello! The theme for today is "The Start of Something New," and boy, do I have something to show you! I purchased some velvet flock (usually used for arts and crafts) to try to recreate a look I had seen with MUA fur effect nails! I love this look, but it is extremely delicate and finicky. It started falling off a couple of hours after I had applied it, and it wasn't all that easy to put on in the first place! However, I like the look and I think fur nails are a definite eye-catcher! I love the texture, too! I'm glad this challenge gave me room to try it out :) I hope you like them!

Hey! Today the theme is "Floral Print," so I decided to go for a design with many variations that I've always admired. I think they turned out pretty well! What do you think?

31 Day Challenge: Day 16 "Watercolors"

Hi :) Today the theme is "Watercolors!" Though the most common technique is simply to mesh a collection of colors, I decided to try to create some abstract flowers with black outlines to contrast with the softness of the watercolor technique. For those of you who don't know, "watercolor" in nail polish terms means a drop of color blended with some acetone to spread it. I think it is fun and also difficult, but I encourage you to try it! What do you think?

31 Day Challenge: Day 14 "3D"

Hi there! The challenge theme today is 3D! I decided I wanted to use some pearl rhinestones, and this is what came out! I like it, and the reason why I included the last (slightly strange) picture is to show you what they looked like in action, because in pictures, the accent nails full of rhinestones may have looked a little awkward. I was pleased with how they came out, and they are definitely 3D and eye-catching! What do you think?

Hello! Today the challenge theme was "Tape" and I was looking forward to having a chance to practice such a difficult nail art skill. Though taping is not my favorite skill because of the mess, the patience to let it dry, and the chance for mistakes, that is the point of the 31 Day Challenge! And, as it turns out, if you are patient enough, it might not be so bad! In fact, I was rather happy with how these ended up! What do you think? :D
